Before the works
The interior of the house needed fresh paint. The owners decided to paint only the kitchen and living area and kept the bedrooms the same. In all, the house was in a good condition and didn’t need much maintenance work. Many of the jobs the owners did themselves, including trimming back the garden plants. That helped them keep the expenses on the preparation of the house low.
We did also advise the owners on paint colour choices, garden works that needed to be done, and light fixtures improvements. It was up to them to follow or not our suggestions.
Ready for sale
The main work we did on this project was home staging the house. We did make an intentional choice of what and how much furniture to use so that the house feels spacious. There are dark carpets in the bedrooms. To solve this problem, prompted by the client, we used brighter rugs where we could. This really helped to lift the energy of the home.
